Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking an LPN to join the 4 Main Med-Surg Telemetry Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital. The role focuses on patient care for medical-surgical patients and those requiring telemetry monitoring.

Candidates will perform LPN duties such as starting IVs and wound care, while coordinating with RNs and physicians to ensure patient safety and outcomes. The position requires 12-hour shifts (7:00 am – 7:30 pm) three days per week and may include weekends and holidays.

• Active Kentucky LPN license or eligible by date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for medical-surgical patients on the unit and monitor patients as assigned.
• Perform tasks within LPN scope (starting IVs, simple wound dressings) and promptly report changes to the RN or physician.

Job Summary

LPN’s on 4 Main Med-Surg Telemetry Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide for medical surgical patients and adults requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Patient conditions include a wide range of medical conditions and recovery from surgical procedures which may or may not require telemetry monitoring.
The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. The LPN performs the duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patients condition.
