Job Summary: Geisinger is proud to offer a full-time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, as well as up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN. We offer market-leading hiring rates and up to $5 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Job Description:

Contributes data to patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Promotes adaptive responses to achieve high-quality care, safety, and patient satisfaction. Exhibits compassionate care, coordinates patient care, and interacts with staff. Meets qualifications to care for patients in the assigned unit.

  • Contributes data to assessments within scope and standards
  • Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs
  • Reinforces education, discharge planning throughout hospitalization
  • Provides direct care including treatments, medications, diagnostics
  • Evaluates effectiveness of interventions based on patient response
  • Collaborates proactively with physicians and team members
  • Participates in evidence-based practice decisions
  • Provides input for performance appraisals
  • Precepts and mentors new staff and students

Work is performed in a clinical environment. Compliance with policies and procedures is required. Additional department-specific competencies will be essential.
