Job summary

Universal Health Services' Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for full-time night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.).

This 144-bed behavioral health facility provides inpatient services for adolescents, adults, and older adults, with programs for co-occurring conditions. Qualifications

• Graduate of LPN nursing program.
• Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Current license to practice by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care according to nursing care plans and patient treatment plans.
• Participate with staff in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu; assist with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint under RN direction.
• Assist RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administer medications and treatments to patients; monitor effectiveness and educate patients as appropriate.
• Document administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.

A bright and beautiful new 144-bed behavioral health facility, Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient services to our community, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of patients. Position Summary:

The LPN provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan. Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse. Assists RN with patient admissions and discharges. Administers medication and treatments to patients. Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications. Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.

Qualifications
