Job summary

State of Washington, Department of Corrections, invites applications for a Licensed Practical Nurse 4 (LPN4) at the Washington Corrections Center for Women in Gig Harbor, WA. The full-time, permanent position supports health services for incarcerated individuals and operates on a 6:00am–2:30pm shift with Tuesday and Wednesday off.

Applicants must have two years of LPN experience, WA licensure, CPR training, and strong computer/documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Washington State.
• Training in Healthcare Provider CPR (American Heart Association).
• Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information and document via email.

Responsibilities

• Use tools, techniques, and skills to practice nursing safely in the correctional setting.
• Delegate and assign tasks to other staff as appropriate.
• Self-evaluate and practice professional nursing conduct at all times.
• Provide effective communication and documentation.
• Administer medications.
• Provide competent patient care.
