Job summary

The Samaritan Keep Home is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a float position on the evening shift. The LPN provides direct and indirect nursing care under an RN, collaborates with the health team, and contributes to safe, high-quality resident care in a NYS-licensed facility.

Requirements include graduation from a School of Nursing, NYS LPN license (or obtain within 3 months), BLS certification (or obtain within 3 months), and prior hospital LPN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education Requirement: Graduate from a School of Nursing.
• Minimum Experience Requirement: Previous hospital LPN experience is preferred.
• Must have knowledge of appropriate care for the population and age-specific needs.
• Must have good hearing and vision abilities.
• Must recognize safety issues and use of lifts or other assistance for safety.

Responsibilities

• The LPN works under the direction of the registered nurse to provide nursing care.
• Collaborates with team to provide health information and patient care.
• Collects data to identify health goals and priorities.
• Communicates patient status to team and collaborates on care plans.
• Assists with resident care and supervises aides as assigned.
