Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma/GED.
• Required completion of accredited Medical Assisting Program or Associates in LPN.
• 5 years Medical Assisting experience in lieu of education.
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Required certification within 6 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or
• Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) or
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants or
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcare Association (NHA)

Responsibilities

• Assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care.
• Schedule appointments and process physician orders for lab testing.
• Enter information in electronic medical record system.
• Function as liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.
• Room patients and take vitals.
• Obtain comprehensive medical history and document care.
• Administer vaccines, injections, and medications as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under supervision of RN/Provider.
