Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN develops and implements individualized nursing care plans to meet residents' needs.
- In orientation and supervision of nursing staff, handles daily operations of the unit per shift and assumes leadership as needed.
- Performs direct resident assessment and care.
- Supervises nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in accordance with regulations.
- Formulates nursing care plans using the nursing process.
- Assesses residents daily and adjusts actions as needed.
- Assists physicians on rounds and communicates orders accurately.
- Participates in training and supervision of nursing staff.
- Demonstrates leadership and supervision principles.
- Handles emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Prepares daily assignment of duties and treatments.
