Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews medical records for pertinent previous and current information.
• Measures and records vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
• Provides basic patient care or treatments, such as wound care, treating bedsores, catheterizations, and routine immunizations.
• Participates in patient treatment regimens, including administering medications under supervision of a physician and RN.
• Handles office duties: answering phones, taking messages, and triage within licensed practice scope.
• Collects samples (blood, urine, sputum) and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures.
• Assists patients with bathing, dressing, hygiene, and mobility.
