Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an LPN to provide direct patient care, including IV therapy, under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The LPN will supervise ancillary nursing staff and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality personalized patient care.

Responsibilities include using the Nursing Process, ensuring patient and family satisfaction, and maintaining credentials. Requires current Louisiana LPN license and BLS certification; IV therapy credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience managing confidential information and working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Current LPN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• IV Therapy credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the Nursing Process—data gathering, planning, and evaluation—to deliver patient care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, and safety criteria appropriate to patient age.
• Provides care to patients, guests, and family members, ensuring a high‑quality patient experience.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, staff, and family.
• Adapts to rapid change positively throughout the day as unit or department needs shift.
• Manages personal professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
• Completes other related duties as required by management.
