Job summary

Western State Hospital, part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for 1st shift. The role offers a 12-hour shift pattern, with 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, and includes a $3,000 sign-on bonus for eligible LPNs.

Qualifications

• LPN license with Virginia state endorsement.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-week schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide work direction to PNA staff under RN supervision.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Foster healthy interactions across units (adult, geriatric, rehab).
• Observe, document, and report patient treatments and wellbeing.
• Administer medications and treatments with continuity of care.
