Job summary

AHRC Nassau is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the LPN-AHRC Dayhab program in East Meadow, NY. The role supports volunteers with medical needs in a day habilitation setting under supervision.

You will perform duties including medication administration, gastrostomy tube feedings after training, first aid, and emergency response, and you will accompany volunteers during transport to community activities. The job emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must be NYS Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR, fire safety training, and GT feeding training required.
• Six months of hospital or long-term care experience, preferably working with ID/DD population.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks within health counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care under RN/MD supervision; attends to medical needs of volunteers in the Day Hab.
• Provides supervision and medical oversight during transit to/from their homes; administers gastrostomy tube feedings, medications, and first aid; responds to emergencies and completes medical/program documentation.
