Job summary

Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit organization providing long-term care services at GSS SD Desmet Ctr. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers professional nursing care under supervision in a PRN capacity within a Christian environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care for residents in long term care under supervision.
• Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise.
• Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program.
• Attends annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications or treatments as ordered.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans.
