Job summary

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for per diem shifts in New York. You will support the Resident Care Director, supervise Resident Care Aides, handle medication assistance, and assist with activities of daily living for residents with a focus on safety and quality of care.

Responsibilities include updating physicians and families, coordinating care, maintaining MARs, and ensuring compliance with Department of Health requirements.

Qualifications

• Current license and registration as a licensed practical nurse.
• Three years’ experience with older adults.
• Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the public.
• Good nursing assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Resident Care Director with supervision of Resident Care Aides.
• Provide medication assistance and daily living activities.
• Observe and evaluate residents’ medical/clinical needs.
• Communicate health status to residents, families, and physicians.
• Maintain nursing records and ensure MAR accuracy.
• Coordinate care with primary physicians and transfer residents as needed.
• Assist with med-assist/reminder programs and on-call duties.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and facility policies.
