Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support patient flow and clinical operations in our Washington State clinic. You will lead proactive chart preparation and collaborate with the physician team to ensure up-to-date information for patients seen in the facility.

Daily duties include caring for multiple patients, triaging, and performing procedures within the LPN scope while adhering to safety and privacy protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current WA LPN license required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification at hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, documenting histories, updating records, coordinating flow and ensuring comfort and privacy.
• Provide direct patient care within LPN scope, including triage, venipuncture, wound care, and assisting with procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, IV therapies, and other treatments while monitoring inventory and patient responses.
• Perform point-of-care testing and basic assessments, document results, and maintain safety standards.
• Maintain complete electronic medical records, process refills, respond to calls, and relay lab results per provider orders.
• Keep exam rooms and equipment clean, stocked, and compliant with infection prevention and safety standards.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you’ll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You’ll take the lead on proactive preparation of patient charts; ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility.

Every day, you'll manage care for multiple patients, adapting to physician availability on-site, and actively collaborate with your clinical team to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the clinic.

• Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, updating patient records, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and education.


• Provide direct patient care within LPN scope of practice, including triage, diagnostic testing, specimen collection, venipuncture, wound care, catheter care, splint application, and assisting with clinical procedures.


• Administer medications, vaccines, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments while monitoring medication inventory, controlled substances, and patient responses in accordance with established protocols.


• Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, spirometry, and other clinical assessments, accurately documenting results and maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.


• Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records, process prescription refills, respond to patient calls, communicate lab results, and carry out provider orders using approved protocols.


• Maintain exam rooms, instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies by cleaning, sterilizing, stocking, and preparing procedure areas while supporting providers and ensuring compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.
