Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to keep the day running smoothly for patients and the clinical team. You’ll lead proactive preparation of patient charts, obtain vital signs, and update histories to ensure accurate information for those seen in our facility.

You will provide direct LPN care within your scope, including triage, specimen collection, injections, and coordinating with providers to ensure timely care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse: WA license upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, documenting histories, updating records, coordinating patient flow and ensuring comfort and privacy.
• Provide direct patient care within LPN scope, including triage, specimen collection, venipuncture, wound care, catheter care, splinting and assisting with procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, IV therapies, and other treatments while monitoring inventory and patient responses per protocol.
• Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, spirometry, and other assessments with accurate documentation.
• Maintain electronic medical records, process refills, respond to calls, relay lab results, and carry out provider orders.
• Maintain exam rooms and supplies, sterilize and prepare procedure areas, and support infection prevention and safety standards.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you’ll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You’ll take the lead on proactive preparation of patient charts; ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility.

Every day, you'll manage care for multiple patients, adapting to physician availability on-site, and actively collaborate with your clinical team to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the clinic.

• Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, updating patient records, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and education.
• Provide direct patient care within LPN scope of practice, including triage, diagnostic testing, specimen collection, venipuncture, wound care, catheter care, splint application, and assisting with clinical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments while monitoring medication inventory, controlled substances, and patient responses in accordance with established protocols.
• Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, spirometry, and other clinical assessments, accurately documenting results and maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records, process prescription refills, respond to patient calls, communicate lab results, and carry out provider orders using approved protocols.
• Maintain exam rooms, instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies by cleaning, sterilizing, stocking, and preparing procedure areas while supporting providers and ensuring compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.

Job Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing., upon hire and

• American Heart Association - Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• One year of LPN work experience in a clinic setting or
• Two years of acute care LPN work experience
