Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in West Bloomfield is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for part-time day shifts to provide and coordinate resident care under the Director of Nursing.

The LPN will supervise CNAs, ensure continuity of care, and serve as a resource for residents, families, and staff while adhering to federal, state and facility policies.

Required: 1–2 years of long-term care nursing; Michigan LPN license; CPR certification or within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute preferred.
• Current state license to practice as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse).
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises CNAs/STNAs and other staff providing direct care.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilities.
• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety.
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed.
• Transfers employees among units per staffing demands.
• Completes performance evaluations for CNAs/STNAs.
• Adjusts break schedules and resolves staff concerns.
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
