Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a part-time LPN for its behavioral health unit in Northwest Reno. This role emphasizes providing safe and compassionate patient care within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN approved RN program, OR Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program.
  • Current Nevada nursing license required.
  • BLS certification must be current.
  • One year full time or three years part time experience in an acute care setting preferred.

  • Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
  • Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill.
  • Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients.

Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff. The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.

This LPN opportunity is part time, offers full benefits and convenient schedule. This position is for our behavioral Health unit located in Northwest Reno. We are looking for a dynamic Nurse that will help provide safe and compassionate care to our patients in the behavioral health environment. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
  • Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill. Integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities.
  • Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients. Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
