Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers in Sebring, FL is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our on-site nursing team. You will provide essential care to patients undergoing treatment for substance use disorders and co‑occurring mental health conditions.

The role reports to the Director of Nursing and is a full‑time day shift (36 hours weekly). You will document care, manage medications, educate patients, and coordinate with families to support recovery and safe discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license in Florida.
• Nursing degree/diploma from an accredited school.
• Experience in behavioral/mental health, detox, or related settings.
• Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with confidentiality regulations and Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine care at various levels of care.
• Identify treatment needs, integrating findings into collaborative, measurable treatment plans.
• Complete nursing documentation in accordance with facility and state requirements.
• Review medication logs and assist the medical department in a variety of tasks.
• Administer medications as directed by the medical provider.
• Facilitate medication education and incorporate nursing and medical issues into treatment plans.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and referral sources to provide progress updates and coordinate post-discharge recovery plans.
• Apply clinical judgment and intervention skills in crisis situations, including risk assessments and de-escalation.
• Tailor nursing approaches to meet diverse patient needs.
• Build rapport and foster trust with patients through strong interpersonal skills.
