Job summary

Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time role in Athens, OH. The position supports adults in a residential setting, implementing treatment plans, assisting with medication management, hygiene, budgeting, and daily living activities.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, documentation, and transportation to appointments. The role operates in an OCSEA-bargained environment with shifts across 6:30am–3:00pm, 2:30pm–11:00pm, and 10:45pm–6:45am, located

Qualifications

• License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code.
• Note: Licensed Practical Nurses who administer dialysis treatment must possess Certification in IV Therapy pursuant to Section 4723.17 Ohio Revised Code.

Responsibilities

• Administers oxygen; applies sterile dressing; adheres to infection control practices; inserts catheters; reinserts gastrostomy tubes, suctions, irrigates wounds; collects specimens; assists physicians with physical exams, treatments &/or laboratory tests; administers first‑aid, CPR; restrains patients; administers medications.
• Maintains medication accountability records; observes, documents & reports patient conditions; prepares &/or maintains related reports & records.
• Provides general nursing, direct care &/or programming assistance (vital signs, hygiene, grooming, medication administration, escorts, activities); supports team with treatment plan progress.
• Provides work direction to lower-level staff; precepts & guides new LPN staff; attends meetings as required.
• Orders medication & medical supplies; cleans nursing station & medication room; ensures ward unit security.
