Job summary

Westminster Towers Orlando seeks a charge nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise CNAs. The role requires following physician orders, evaluating resident needs, and coordinating with doctors for updates, with authoritative entry of orders into ECS.

You will oversee medication administration, monitor skin health and vitals, and ensure compliant care delivery in a busy setting, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license and be in good standing.
• Experience supervising CNAs and coordinating resident care.
• Ability to follow physician orders and document accurately.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as the charge nurse and ensure compliance with orders.
• Implement resident care per physician orders and communicate updates to doctors.
• Assist with evaluating residents and planning care; enter orders into ECS.
• Ensure medications are administered per orders and maintain med care compliance.
• Perform skin evaluations and monitor vital signs, glucose, temperature, and BP.

Job description

Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Supervise CNAs as the charge nurse; ensure that CNAs are following physician orders.
2. Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN). Complete admission orders into ECS.
3. Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes. Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders. Enter physician orders into ECS.
4. Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor's orders/compete medication pass.
5. Maintain the medication care including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
6. Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols. Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
