Homewood Retirement Centers seeks a licensed practical nurse to administer prescribed medications and oversee direct resident care. You will maintain confidentiality, adhere to nursing protocols, and coordinate with nursing assistants to support resident needs.

You will participate in care planning, document accurately, and respond promptly to emergencies. The role requires physical endurance and clear communication with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN license in the state providing nursing care.
• Judgment, initiative and dependability are required.
• Ability to read, write and understand English well.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for an eight hour shift.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds to assist with lifts and transfers.
• Ability to push a med cart for dispensing medications.
• Must react quickly and decisively in emergencies.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate with residents at a level they can understand.

Responsabilités

• Takes direct responsibility for the administration of prescribed medications and treatments.
• Treats all resident and staff information as confidential.
• Assigns daily care duties to Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides and monitors delivery of care.
• Transcribes physician orders accurately and assists with physician visits.
• Participates in resident care planning.
• Evaluates residents' needs and responds with proper nursing techniques.
• Assists with admissions and discharges of residents.
• Assists with directing Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides as needed.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.

Job Summary:

Assesses the direct delivery of resident care and administers prescribed medications.

Essential Functions:

1. Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information.
2. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
3. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
4. Provides accurate and descriptive records of medical and nursing care of the residents.
5. Assigns daily resident care duties to Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides, monitors and evaluates the delivery of care.
6. Accurately transcribes and carries out all physicians orders and assists with physician visits.
7. Participates in resident care planning.
8. Evaluates and is alert to the physical and psychological needs of the residents and responds in accordance with proper nursing techniques and protocol.
9. Assists with admissions and discharges of residents.
10. Assists in the management of Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides.
11. Assists with direct resident care as time and responsibilities permit.
12. Assists with carrying out physician orders.
13. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Current and valid LPN license in the state providing nursing care.
2. Possesses judgment capabilities, initiative and dependability.
3. Ability to read, write and understand English well.
4. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn frequently throughout the course of an eight hour shift.
5. Ability to lift 30 pounds in assisting co-workers with resident lifts, transfers, etc. several times throughout the shift.
6. Standing and walking distances constantly throughout the campus would be required during the shift in evaluating residents and supporting line staff and (at applicable facilities) respond to emergency needs of the Retirement Community.
7. Ability to push a med cart in dispensing medications.
8. Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in unexpected behavior of residents.
9. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
10. Ability to communicate to residents at a level they can understand.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn frequently throughout the course of an 8 hour shift. Ability to push a med cart in dispensing medications. Ability to lift 30 pounds in assisting co-workers with resident lifts, transfers, etc. several times throughout the shift. Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in unexpected behavior of residents.
