Job summary

Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Broward Addiction Recovery Center. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, medical screening, medication administration, and monitoring in a county addiction treatment setting.

The ideal candidate holds an LPN license in Florida with current BLS, plus at least two years' LPN experience, including six months in substance abuse/behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of course work from an accredited practical nursing education program.
• Requires two years' experience as a licensed practical nurse, including six months in substance abuse/behavioral health nursing.
• Current BLS certification and valid Florida Class E Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized licensed practical nursing work for Broward County's substance abuse program.
• Renders nursing and health support services; monitors patient status and reports changes.
• Administers medications per physician orders and documents accordingly.
• Coordinates with doctors, counselors and external providers to ensure safe care.
• Participates in QA activities and discharge/aftercare planning.
