Acute Medical Staffing is urgently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contract assignment in Abilene, Texas. This opportunity targets experienced LPNs seeking consistent contract hours in an acute rehabilitation setting.

Shift options are 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with 12-hour shifts and meal breaks. Start ASAP with about 23 shifts available and pay rate of $40.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Texas LPN license/compact eligibility required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Preferred: acute care, rehab, or skilled nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in an acute rehabilitation setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to care.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Assist with patient care planning and implementation.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the RN and care team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Follow facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians and other staff.

Contract Details

Setting: Acute Rehabilitation

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM -7:30 AM

Shift Length: 12 hours with scheduled meal break

Approximately 23 shifts available

Pay Rate: $40.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in an acute rehabilitation setting
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to care

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Follow facility policies, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Texas LPN/LVN license or applicable compact eligibility
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Previous acute care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or similar clinical experience preferred
• Current physical and required health screenings
• Ability to pass required background and credentialing requirements
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts
• Availability for the duration of the contract preferred
