Job summary

Allen Correctional Center in Kinder, LA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Nursing Department. You will care for inmates, perform nursing duties, and work within a security-conscious facility where teamwork and resilience are essential.

You must hold a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license (or eligible with a temporary permit or NLC/eNLC). The posting includes Probation or permanent promotion pathways and SER pay scales by level.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by an NLC/eNLC state.

Responsibilities

• Implements nursing care plan aspects under supervision.
• Observes patient changes and reports significant changes.
• Obtains specimens for lab testing as assigned.
• Measures vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure.
• Administers medications and treatments per policies.
