Job summary

Riverside Health System in Virginia seeks a licensed practical nurse to join our acute care team. The LPN will work under the supervision of the RN to implement care plans, monitor vitals, administer medications, and assist with patient education and discharge planning.

The role requires graduation from a Practical Nursing program, a Virginia license upon hire, and CPR/BLS certification. Prior acute care experience is preferred, and a strong emphasis on patient safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Program Graduate, Practical Nursing required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year acute care experience preferred.
• LPN license in Virginia upon hire required.
• CPR/BLS certification upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the RN, partner with patients and families to implement plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to outcomes.
• Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput and quality outcomes.
• Performs nursing skills including vitals, blood sugars, administering treatments and medications; able to perform phlebotomy.
• Maintains accurate clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards.
• Supports coordinating with multi-disciplinary team and ensures policy adherence.
