Position Description and Compensation: Hourly Rates: LPN: $27.50 - $32.75 / RN: $32.00 - $38.25

Our LPNs/RNs provide nursing care to residents according to physicians' orders and in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures in our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled departments. Our residents are considered low-acuity. Due to a lower nurse-to-resident ratio, we encourage our nurses to develop strong rapport with residents, which is a standard at Arbor Acres Retirement Community (Winston-Salem).

Job Relationships:

• Reports to Nursing Manager/Supervisor
• Supervises CNA work flow

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and train CNAs and secretaries to ensure quality care
• Verify resident identities, administer medications, observe and record ingestion in MAR
• Maintain accurate medical records and document care and medication administration
• Assist with resident assessments, admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Collect and communicate resident condition information
• Ensure accountability for controlled substances
• Report supply and pharmaceutical needs
• Perform wound care, administer enemas, operate medical equipment, collect lab specimens, and venipuncture

Physical Demands:

• Lift up to 30 lbs without assistance
• Push residents in wheelchairs up to 200 lbs
• Assist residents with mobility tasks
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Complete WorkSTEPS Functional Testing

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Effective verbal communication in English; bilingual preferred

Minimum Education & Certification:

• Graduation from an approved LPN or RN program
• Valid North Carolina nursing license and driver's license
