Qualifications

• Graduate from a state-approved school of practical nursing.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as a practical nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Functions within a designated clinical team.
• Obtains and documents relevant patient information and intervenes within scope of practice.
• Provides standard patient education under an established plan of care.
• Obtains vital signs and other department-based testing.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
• Documents all patient care activities in the electronic medical records.
• Explains procedures to patients to facilitate understanding.
• Performs setup for examinations and procedures for clinicians.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and communicates with the health care team.
