Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

LPN under the supervision of the Director of Medical Services administers individualized care to patients. The key responsibilities align with medication control policies of the program and assist physicians and pharmacists in upholding federal and state regulations governing methadone treatment.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of addiction and methadone maintenance.
• Operate equipment safely and correctly.
• Provide treatment services appropriate to personal and cultural identity of the client and family.
• Respect and dignity toward patients and families.
• Perform head-to-toe assessment.
• Perform nursing skills (Mantoux test, venipuncture, EKG).
• Documentation meets current standards and policies, completed within shift.
• Educate clients on health and infectious disease topics.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Maintain effective communication with the agency.
• Perform related work as required or assigned.
• Provide individualized health coaching to patients in obtaining health objectives.

Requirements / Education

• Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• Current State of Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
• One year experience in a health-related field.
• Some knowledge of methadone maintenance preferred.
