Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support providers in delivering nursing care, document vital signs, and administer methadone under RN supervision. The role involves direct patient care, testing, and collaboration with the RN/physician to ensure quality care within a methadone program.

Requirements include NYS LPN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Graduate of a formal LPN program.
• NYS LPN license.
• BLS certification.
• At least 1 year experience with SUD/SMI or similar environment.
• Phlebotomy and EKG proficiency.
• Flexible schedule as needed.
• Computer literacy including MS Office and EHR.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care including vitals, blood draws, specimen collection, and administering injections/immunizations.
• Observes and reports patient mental and physical status data.
• Administers methadone under RN supervision.
• Prepares labels and take-home bottles for self-administration when clinic closed.
• Records and reports any medication spillage.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of patient needs.
• Follows methadone dispensing protocols per OASAS.
• Tallies medication sheet at end of day.
• Counts medication with RN at end of day closing.
