Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Tennessee to provide compassionate nursing care to residents under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse. You will assess resident needs daily and deliver essential physical or psychosocial care, while documenting accurately and communicating effectively with the care team.

Qualified candidates have an LPN diploma, TN license, and CPR/BLS within 14 days; preferred candidates may have ACLS/PALS and at least six months

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing for LPN from an accredited program is required.
• LPN licensure in TN is required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under physician or RN supervision.
• Assess resident needs daily and deliver physical or psychosocial care.
• Administer medications following five rights and monitor effects.
• Document care accurately and report occurrences through chain of command.
• Identify and manage patient crises until RN/Physician assistance is available.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide compassionate nursing care to our residents, under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse.

Every day, you will assess resident needs and deliver essential physical or psychosocial care.

To be successful in this role, you will exhibit genuine compassion for patient well-being, an understanding of your critical role in ensuring their comfort, and the patience to explain procedures, answer questions, and maintain accurate documentation.

• Identifying and managing a patient crisis until RN / Physician assistance is available.
• Identifies practice abilities and limitations according to Scope of Practice.
• Obtains instruction, delegation and supervision by an RN.
• Recognizes and performs duties which are needed even when not directly assigned.
• Administers medications accurately and safely: following five rights, monitoring adverse effects, reactions, therapeutic responses, toxicity, and incompatibilities.
• Reports occurrences/complaints, following appropriate chain of command.
