Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient Gastroenterology clinic. You will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and support procedures alongside physicians, RNs and medical assistants.

The ideal candidate has NM LPN licensure, BLS, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (NM).
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, as ordered by provider/Standard of Care Protocol.
• Provides patient care in the ambulatory care setting according to established standards in collaboration with Providers, Registered Nurses and Medical Assistants as members of the care team.
• Provides primary support to the provider by proactively anticipating the provider needs, preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, and assisting with treatments and procedures.
• Participates on interdisciplinary team to meet patient care and clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assists providers with procedures.
• Assists with patient education, within scope of practice by Standard of Care-Education Protocol.
• Assist with management, in collaboration with Clinical Manager.
• Documents in electronic medical record within scope of practice.
• Assists in screening of patients, in collaboration with Care Manager.
• Assists Certified Medical Assistants with patient preparation/rooming patients, as directed by visit plan.
• Maintains established practice policies and procedures, objectives, quality program, safety, environment, and infection control standards.
