Job summary

Targa Resources seeks an experienced driver for LPG, Condensate, and Water Vacuum Transport. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Performs truck safety inspections and DOT form preparation.
  • Use ELD for daily logging and dispatch.
  • Operate tractor/tank combinations and related equipment.
  • Deliver per route as dispatched by Targa Transport.
  • Adhere to company and DOT safety policies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading using mechanical devices as instructed.
  • Ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition before leaving.
  • Possess flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays; possible overnight stays.
  • Train new drivers and assist returning drivers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and initiative in safe material handling and emergency response.
  • Understand preventive maintenance for tractors and trailers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and Targa staff.
  • Overnight travel may be required for some trips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The LPG, Condensate, and Water Vacuum Transport Driversoperatea variety ofmake, models, and sizes of tractor/tank truck combinations, and all, pumping, and othermechanical devices related or incidental to transporting,loadingand unloading products, materials, and equipment. Thisroleisrequiredtoperformtruck safety inspections, verification of product loading, and preparation of operational and DOT forms and records.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs truck safety inspections, verification of productloading/lading, and preparation of operational and DOT forms and records
  • UtilizesrequiredElectronicLoggingDevice(ELD)for daily logging and dispatch
  • Operates a variety of makes, models, and sizes of tractor/tank truck combinations, and all, pumping, and other mechanical devices related or incidental to transporting,loadingand unloading products, materials, and equipment
  • Carries out scheduled deliveries by route as specified by Targa Transport dispatchers
  • Adheres to all company and DOT safety policies and procedures
  • Loads/unloads, orassistsin loading/unloading transport, with the aid of mechanical devices, in accordance withapproved procedures and current instructions
  • Determines, by personal inspectionsin accordance withcriteria specified by Targa Transports, that vehicles are in safe operating condition before leaving company facility
  • Worksa flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to work up to themaximumhours allowed by the DOT. May be assigned on a short- term basis to other Targa Transport locations or work sites that could require overnight stay in the truck
  • Transport Driversarerequired toprovide / assist with the training ofnew driversandretrainingthose drivers who are returning to work after extended leave
  • Requiresdemonstratedknowledge, skills,abilitiesand desire to handle materials safely, while driving,loadingand unloading, etc.
  • Requiresdemonstratedinitiative and the ability to work with limited supervision, and the ability and knowledge to respond to emergency situations withappropriate action. Requiresdemonstratedknowledge of and experience with preventive maintenance procedures necessary to perform routine DOT inspections for tractors and trailers
  • Requiresdemonstratedcommunications, interpersonal, and teamwork skills necessary to work safely and effectively with customers and Targa employees.
  • Requires the ability to make occasional overnight stays for certain trips isrequired
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Requires a valid, current Class ACommercialDriver'sLicense with Hazardous Materials andTank Endorsements(X)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Over the Road (OTR)tanker experience
  • Mustpossessasafedriving record
  • Must meet all requirements for drivers asset forth inPart 391-Qualification of Drivers of the Federal MotorCarrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
  • Provenability toread, write,speakand understandEnglish
  • Regular and reliable attendance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.Equivalentcombinationof education, CDL qualifications, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Requires physical and mental ability tooperatea tractor / trailer and all associated equipment
  • Operate in extreme weatheror other adverseconditions, in and out of tractor cab.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous outside and indoor duties includingwalkingstanding, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity
  • Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 75 pounds to waistheight
