Job summary

Targa Resources in Louisiana is seeking a Transport Driver to operate tractor/tank truck combinations for LPG, condensate, and water transportation, loading, and unloading. You will perform truck safety inspections, verify product loading, and complete DOT forms as required.

You will use an ElectronicLoggingDevice (ELD) daily for logging and dispatch, follow safety policies, and deliver on scheduled routes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs truck safety inspections, verification of product loading, and preparation of operational and DOT forms and records
  • Uses ElectronicLoggingDevice (ELD) for daily logging and dispatch
  • Operates tractor/tank truck combinations and related pumping/mechanical devices for transporting, loading and unloading products
  • Carries out scheduled deliveries by route as specified by dispatchers
  • Adheres to all company and DOT safety policies and procedures
  • Loads/unloads with mechanical devices in accordance with procedures and current instructions
  • Determines vehicle safety condition before leaving the facility
  • Works a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; overnight stays may be required
  • Provides and assists with training of new drivers and retraining returning drivers
  • Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and ability to handle materials safely while driving/loading/unloading
  • Responds to emergencies with appropriate action; performs preventive maintenance for DOT inspections
  • Communicates effectively with customers and Targa employees
  • Occasional overnight stays for certain trips are required
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION SUMMARY:

The LPG, Condensate, and Water Vacuum Transport Driversoperatea variety ofmake, models, and sizes of tractor/tank truck combinations, and all, pumping, and othermechanical devices related or incidental to transporting,loadingand unloading products, materials, and equipment. Thisroleisrequiredtoperformtruck safety inspections, verification of product loading, and preparation of operational and DOT forms and records.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs truck safety inspections, verification of productloading/lading, and preparation of operational and DOT forms and records
  • UtilizesrequiredElectronicLoggingDevice(ELD)for daily logging and dispatch
  • Operates a variety of makes, models, and sizes of tractor/tank truck combinations, and all, pumping, and other mechanical devices related or incidental to transporting,loadingand unloading products, materials, and equipment
  • Carries out scheduled deliveries by route as specified by Targa Transport dispatchers
  • Adheres to all company and DOT safety policies and procedures
  • Loads/unloads, orassistsin loading/unloading transport, with the aid of mechanical devices,in accordance with approved procedures and current instructions
  • Determines, by personal inspectionsin accordance withcriteria specified by Targa Transports, that vehicles are in safe operating condition before leaving company facility
  • Worksa flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to work up to themaximumhours allowed by the DOT. May be assigned on a short- term basis to other Targa Transport locations or work sites that could require overnight stay in the truck
  • Transport Driversarerequired toprovide / assist with the training ofnew driversandretrainingthose drivers who are returning to work after extended leave
  • Requiresdemonstratedknowledge, skills,abilitiesand desire to handle materials safely, while driving,loadingand unloading, etc.
  • Requiresdemonstratedinitiative and the ability to work with limited supervision, and the ability and knowledge to respond to emergency situations withappropriate action. Requiresdemonstratedknowledge of and experience with preventive maintenance procedures necessary to perform routine DOT inspections for tractors and trailers
  • Requiresdemonstratedcommunications, interpersonal, and teamwork skills necessary to work safely and effectively with customers and Targa employees.
  • Requires the ability to make occasional overnight stays for certain trips isrequired
