Job summary

Keystone Cooperative in Indiana is seeking a propane tank service technician to handle installation, maintenance, and delivery of propane tanks. A valid CDL A and HazMat endorsement (or ability to obtain) are required, with mechanical aptitude and strong safety focus.

The role includes installing/removing tanks, repairs to valves and seals, leak testing, and safe operation of assigned equipment. Customer service, paperwork accuracy, and weekend availability during peak seasons are important.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with HazMat endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Proficient mechanical knowledge and problem-solving.
• Ability to obtain propane certifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends during peak seasons.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check including MVR.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to be the main point of contact for propane tank maintenance; this includes delivering, setting, installing, and servicing propane tanks. This position will assist in transporting fuel and other general maintenance, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install and set propane tanks as well as provide removal of tanks
• Conduct field repairs of tank valves, seals, and lines
• Analyze and troubleshoot for leaks and repair equipment
• Deliver fuel as required
• Understand and safely operate equipment and vehicle assigned
• Consistently follow all laws, regulations, and safety rules
• Provide excellent customer service
• Maintain positive communication with the supervisor and customer, as needed
• Properly complete necessary paperwork and records
• Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of equipment, building, and grounds

Skills and Qualifications

• Class A CDL with acceptable work history
• HazMat endorsement or ability to obtain
• Mechanical knowledge
• Obtain required Propane Certifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk a mile, climb steps/ladders and lift up to 75lbs
• Bending and climbing in and out of the truck
