This position is a SEIU 32BJ union position.

Job Summary: Work with pastry chef and team of bakers to provide baked goods for two residential dining halls, Catering Department, staff lounge, and student care packages in a timely fashion.

Essential Functions:

  • Following recipes
  • Scaling, mixing, baking and packaging baked goods. Some knowledge of metric and imperial baking measurements.
  • Labeling, dating and storing foods properly.
  • Maintaining correct portion sizes, freshness and quality.
  • Stocking retail space with baked goods and maintain the retail space presentation.
  • Following cleaning schedule as provided by management. Also, utilizing the clean as you go techniques.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with management, informing them of products and supplies needed.
  • Follow the uniform dress code and maintain proper personal hygiene.
  • Follow Parkhurst gold standards. Uses smile plus hospitality imperatives.
  • Assist fellow associates at every opportunity.
  • Preform any other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and/or walking 100% of the time
  • Occasionally lifting 50lbs
  • Frequently lifting up to 20 lbs.

The pay rate for this position is $16.25 / hour with a one dollar increase after 90 days.
