Position Overview

The Early Childhood co-teacher supports the lead teacher by creating a flexible, engaging classroom environment that fosters each student's growth. Responsibilities include establishing rapport with students, motivating and guiding their development, and staying current with best practices in early childhood education, especially for girls' education. Building positive relationships with families and collaborating with staff are essential. The co-teacher must support the school's mission and values.

Hours of Work

Standard week; evening and weekend work may be required

Essential Responsibilities

• Support development and teaching of an early childhood curriculum aligned with current standards and research
• Document children's social-emotional and academic progress through various methods
• Lead and assist with individualized and small group instruction using diverse strategies
• Maintain positive relationships with families via communication
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and team to set up effective indoor and outdoor learning environments
• Contribute positively to the school culture and community, adhering to professional standards

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Requires physical activity, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and becoming CPR and First Aid certified. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform other physical tasks is necessary.
