Job Title: Lower Elementary Math Content Teacher

Job Type: Part Time

About This Role:

This part-time position is designed for college students and entry-level professionals who are passionate about education and have the drive to grow into future leaders in the education industry. The successful candidate will work alongside our Silicon Valley teaching team while also focusing on the operational aspects of our business.

You will have the resources to become a great math educator and provide world-class teaching services to PreK-6th graders of all levels. This role will also give you the chance to participate in Think Academy's business functions, including operations and marketing, preparing you for future roles such as branch directors and department managers.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds as no prior teaching-related experience is required. With the right mindset, this position will strengthen your teaching abilities and leadership competency, serving as a stepping stone in your education career.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging lessons in English for elementary level mathematics using Think Academy curriculum
    • Grade: K-3
    • Language: English
    • Format: In-person
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that fosters a love of mathematics among a class of about 8-16 students.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs by providing personalized assistance to students.
  • Grade homework and provide other related key teaching services.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and areas of concern
    • Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed.
    • Hold office hours and provide 1-on-1 help.
  • Foster a safe and respectful learning atmosphere for all students.
  • Develop tailored mathematical learning plans for students based on their abilities and goals.
  • Support daily business operations in marketing and growth in the Bay Area.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Open to all majors; training and professional growth provided.
  • Strong knowledge of math concepts and problem-solving techniques.
    • Prior math teaching or general teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Passionate about teaching and the education industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
  • Commit to at least one whole semester teaching without interruption.
  • Responsible, reliable, and a team player.
  • Patient, empathetic, and motivated to inspire students.
  • Available to work during weekday late afternoons and weekends.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to commute to teach in-person at one of our San Jose Cupertino Campuses.
  • Start at $40/hour (teaching fee) + $20/hour (administrative fee) + potential to earn teaching commission!
