Job summary

Gray & Son, Inc. is seeking a Lowboy Truck Driver to operate a truck & trailer for transporting construction material and equipment in Baltimore, MD. The role requires loading equipment onto the trailer and delivering to various sites, with a focus on safe, efficient operation of the vehicle.

This is a skilled driving position that includes maintaining logs, inspecting the vehicle, and supporting foremen during site briefings. Valid Class A CDL and ability to pass a DOT physical are required.

Job description

The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck & trailer for transportation of construction material and equipment.

In this position, the Lowboy Driver will load construction equipment (may include but are not limited to front end loader, crusher equipment, fuel tanks, dozer, excavator, oversized loads) onto trailer and transport to various construction sites. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks.

Job Duties

• Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Keeps record of materials and products transported.
• Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle.
• Operates equipment on vehicle to unload equipment or materials.
• Operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment to be operated.
• The Lowboy Driver assists in loading and unloading truck equipment or materials.
• Willingly attend and support Foremen/Superintendents during morning huddles and toolbox talks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Certificates and /or Licenses

• Valid Class A CDL
• Able to pass a DOT physical.
