Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a professional truck driver to dispatch construction materials to job sites across the Mid-Atlantic region. The role requires adherence to DOT rules, safety standards, and accurate logkeeping.

You will conduct pre/post trip inspections, navigate to locations, and load/unload heavy equipment as needed. We offer competitive pay, a sign-on bonus of $2500, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL required for Low bed, low boy; Class B CDL for Tilt/flat bed.
• In compliance with all DOT physical requirements.

Responsibilities

Sign-on Bonus of $2500 for Qualified Candidates

This position is dispatched to transport construction materials to customer or job site locations. May be assigned to move construction materials at different job sites. Conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.

• Makes daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle in order to maintain maximum vehicle safety conditions and to check for any damaged or work parts or for any signs of tampering. Must report all problems found to the shop immediately.
• Drives to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and of roads in the area.
• Maintains a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
• Communicates any problems with traffic or with site conditions are reported promptly. Also, gets information on the location of the job site and the locations of any light bridges or roads on the way to the site.
• Complies with all aspects of truck maintenance, cleanliness and repair in accordance with the guidelines specified in the Truck Driver's Handbook.
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Hourly Range

• $27.00 - $35.00, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to show composure and constraint while driving safely. Poor driving would result in a negative perception by the public towards the company.

Physical Demands

Prolonged sitting followed by hooking up, loading, and unloading equipment. Requires extensive and heavy physical activity and dexterity. Must be able to drive for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment

Must be able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends
