Job summary
Universal Systems is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician with a strong background in security systems to join our growing team. This role involves installation, service, and troubleshooting of residential and commercial low voltage systems including alarm systems, surveillance, access control, A/V distribution, Automation systems, network systems and more.
We are looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and alongside a team.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage or security system installation.
- Strong knowledge of burglar alarms, CCTV, and access control.
- Experience with DSC, Honeywell, Alarm.com (preferred).
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and troubleshoot low voltage systems.
- Install burglar alarm systems (DSC, Honeywell/Ademco, Napco, etc.).
- Install CCTV systems (IP cameras, NVRs) and access control systems.
- Run and terminate wiring (Cat5/6, coax); program and configure control panels.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues; provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and reports.
