Descrizione del lavoro

Low Voltage Installer

Binyod LLC · Houston, TX · Full-time

$20 – $25/hour plus overtime · W-2 · Field-based with travel across Texas

Do you take pride in clean cable runs, solid terminations, and systems that work the first time? Binyod is hiring a Low Voltage Installer to join our Operations team. You'll install structured cabling, access control, CCTV, intrusion, AV, and paging systems for commercial, K-12, and office customers across Texas.

You'll work alongside our Team Leads and Lead Technicians, turning approved drawings into installations that are safe, neat, tested, and documented.

What You'll Do

Field Installation and Workmanship

  • Execute assigned work. Complete daily installation tasks according to approved drawings, scope, manufacturer instructions, code requirements, and direction from the Team Lead or Lead Technician.
  • Install infrastructure. Install cable, conduit (as assigned), J-hooks, basket tray, ladder rack, supports, backboards, and service loops in a secure, professional manner.
  • Pull and route cable. Pull, route, dress, bundle, support, and protect copper, fiber, speaker, security, and control cabling while maintaining bend radius, separation, fill, and firestopping requirements.
  • Terminate correctly. Terminate and dress outlets, patch panels, distribution frames, racks, and field connections using approved pinouts and standards, including T568B where applicable.
  • Install devices. Mount, install, and trim out access control, surveillance, intrusion, AV, paging, and network devices within the approved scope.

Testing, Quality, and Commissioning Support

  • Test installed work. Perform continuity, wire-map, certification, functionality, and visual tests, and record results using the approved project method.
  • Correct deficiencies. Identify failed tests, damaged materials, labeling errors, or incomplete work; correct them within your authority and elevate unresolved conditions promptly.
  • Support commissioning. Assist technicians and manufacturers with device provisioning, startup, acceptance testing, and punch-list closure without unapproved system or scope changes.

Safety and Customer-Site Conduct

  • Work safely. Follow OSHA requirements, ladder and lift safety, PPE rules, electrical awareness, fall protection, and site-specific safety plans at all times.
  • Protect the site. Keep work areas clean, control debris and tools, and protect finished surfaces and occupied spaces such as schools and offices.
  • Stop unsafe work. Pause and report unsafe conditions, unidentified energized circuits, damaged equipment, or work outside your training and authorization.
  • Represent Binyod professionally. Communicate respectfully with customers, general contractors, other trades, and facility staff; route scope and schedule questions to the Team Lead or Project Manager.

Coordination, Documentation, and Stewardship

  • Coordinate daily work. Confirm assignment, location, materials, drawings, and completion targets with the Team Lead before starting work.
  • Report on progress. Give accurate daily updates on completed quantities, remaining work, blockers, material shortages, and testing status.
  • Maintain records. Complete time records, installation checklists, cable labels, test results, photos, as-built/redline notes, and material usage.
  • Care for tools, materials, and vehicles. Inspect, use, store, and return company tools, testers, ladders, lifts, and PPE correctly; account for materials; follow fleet policy and report loss or damage immediately.
What You Bring

Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Division 27 (Communications: structured cabling, fiber, voice/data, AV, paging) and Division 28 (Electronic Safety & Security: access control, CCTV, intrusion detection) systems, standards, and related work

  • Safe use of hand and power tools, testers, ladders, and lifts
  • Valid driver's license, and availability for occasional on-call, weekend, or overnight work
