Job summary

Matrix-NDI Watertown, SD is seeking a Low-Voltage Technician to install and commission low voltage systems in commercial settings. Work on-site in Brookings, SD, independently or leading small teams, and ensure NEC compliance and project timelines.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 3+ years of experience, and FOA certification or BICSI Installer 1/2 preferred. Physical work and lifting up to 50 lbs are required.

  • BICSI Installer 1 or Installer 2 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install low voltage systems and cabling in commercial/industrial sites.
  • Perform cable pulling, supports, fireproofing, terminating and testing per NEC and local codes.
  • Test cable infrastructure to ensure performance meets standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and project manuals to program and verify systems.
  • Ensure schedules and deadlines are met and projects are safe/efficient.
  • Maintain professional appearance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Low-Voltage Technician

About this position

Install low voltage systems to meet the customer’s specifications in a commercial setting.Work independently and/or lead small teams.

This position is on-site 5 days a week in Brookings, SD.

  • Install low voltage systems, cabling infrastructure, and equipment in commercial/industrial sites in a neat and organized manner
  • Perform all cable pulling, cable supports, fireproofing, terminating, and testing in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulations
  • Test cable infrastructure to ensure performance meets TIA standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and project manuals to properly program and verify new systems
  • Ensure all schedules and deadlines are met
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
  • Maintain regular and acceptable attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience highly preferred
  • Fiber Optic Experience or Training preferred such as FOA certification
  • BICSI Installer 1 and/or BICSI Installer 2 highly preferred

Working conditions

  • Potential for overtime, night, and weekend work
