We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and technically capable Traveling Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team. This position involves traveling to customer sites across the United States to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on technical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, a willingness to travel, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service. Candidates with experience in nurse call systems, healthcare facilities, structured cabling, or other low-voltage technologies are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems and equipment.
- Perform service calls, system testing, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling, devices, and related equipment.
- Diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Travel to customer locations nationwide to complete assigned service calls and projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, service managers, general contractors, and customer representatives.
- Maintain accurate service reports, document work performed, and communicate outstanding issues.
- Follow installation standards, safety procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
- Maintain company-provided tools and equipment and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Represent the company professionally while working at customer sites.
Qualifications
- Previous low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, networking, or related technical experience preferred.
- Experience with nurse call systems, access control, CCTV, structured cabling, or similar technologies is a plus.
- Basic understanding of wiring diagrams, cable termination, electrical fundamentals, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic testing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively, including overnight and multi-day trips.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of fieldwork, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working in various facility environments.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay: $20.00–$25.00, depending on experience.
