Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

QuestCom is seeking industrial and commercial Low-Voltage Technicians for projects throughout the United States. Individual should possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience and be capable of working on highly complex fast paced projects.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Install and program new fire alarm, security, access control, and camera systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with alarms and security systems.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on alarm, security, and camera systems.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• Carrying and safely utilizing ladders and aerial lift equipment.
• Configuring camera and access controls systems on IT networks.
• Installation and servicing of alarm panels and associated equipment.

• Wire pulling and device terminations.
• Control panel and head-end terminations.
• System programming, testing, and commissioning.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years minimum experience as a technician or senior technician.
• Experience with low voltage alarm systems, IP surveillance, and general network knowledge.
• Servicing, troubleshooting, and installation experience of NVR/DVR and server-based storage solutions for IP surveillance systems.

• Familiarity and working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Must have your own basic tools, i.e., screwdrivers, drills, hammers, wrenches, etc.
• Ability to handle prolonged physical activity.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Clean driving record is required.
• Professional attitude.
• Strong multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently or part of a larger project team.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings, diagrams, and project specifications.
• Safety credentials and equipment certifications is a plus.

• AMAG access control system certification is a plus.
• Continental access control system certification is a plus.
• Silent Knight fire alarm system certification is a plus.
• Honeywell wireless & hardwired security panel certification is a plus.
• Salient camera server certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of Vista, Vanderbilt, FLIR DSC, Lynx, GE, Alibi, Samsung, Cisco, Dell, Apple, Microsoft, & Altronix equipment is a plus.
