Job summary

Walmart is seeking a qualified Low Voltage Technician to support multiple facilities in Illinois. You will install and configure low voltage systems including security, CCTV, fire alarms, AV, and network cabling, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

Responsibilities include maintenance, fault resolution, end-user training, and detailed record-keeping. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure timely, safe, and quality project completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Experience in local electrical codes and standards.
• Option 1: 1 year’s experience in electrical, material handling equipment, or related technical trade. Option 2: 2 years Walmart store experience.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and configures low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
• Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
• Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability; identifies and resolves issues to minimize downtime.
• Provides technical support; trains end users on operating low voltage systems and addresses inquiries professionally.
• Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Follows safety guidelines and maintains records of installations, maintenance, and repairs; generates reports on performance and upgrades.
• Communicates effectively with clients to understand needs and provide appropriate solutions.
