Job summary

Fire Fighter Sales & Service Company seeks a CAD Operator and Low Voltage Systems Designer to create 2D and 3D designs for fire protection and other low voltage projects. Office-based with occasional site surveys, you will coordinate with the Construction Manager to meet timelines and budgets, while supporting both internal and external customers with system-related questions.

You will prepare drawings, submittals, BOMs, and owner documentation, provide estimating support, and ensure designs

Qualifications

• Associates degree in CADD or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong computer skills with design software knowledge, especially AutoCAD and Visio.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate to meet timelines and budgets.
• Solid math, engineering principles, and industry standards understanding.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Create complete drawing and submittal packages for low voltage system projects.
• Collaborate with Construction Manager to develop drawing schedules and provide support.
• Ensure all documents stay within budget constraints.
• Attend weekly meetings with Projects and Sales teams to coordinate efforts.
• Perform material take-offs and update BOMs in project management software.
• Prepare Owner Documentation packages and manage drawing storage.
• Provide estimating support and technical expertise as needed.
• Conduct field surveys to gather site data and verify requirements.
• Maintain accurate time sheets for project costing.
• Demonstrate punctuality and a full day's work.
• Grow into roles such as Fire Protection Designer, Project Manager, Construction Manager, System Operations Manager.
