Job summary

K Group Companies is seeking a Field Service Technician I to install low voltage systems, train customers on operation, and ensure precise execution. The role emphasizes teamwork yet requires independent project work and strong customer communication.

Responsibilities include reviewing quotes, inspecting sites, installing cabling and devices, troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance. Travel across the Midwest is expected, with most weekends at home.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings.
  • Team management/supervisor experience.
  • Prior experience completing projects within scope.
  • Experience with service ticketing processes.
  • Knowledge of fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have valid US Driver’s license.

  • Inspects installation sites, studies work orders, architectural plans, and installation methods
  • Installs low voltage cabling, devices, and systems per specifications, codes, and practices
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with installed systems
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of systems
  • Respond promptly to service calls and customer inquiries
  • Travel extensively across the Midwest; weekends as needed; home most weekends
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain customer satisfaction

Field Service Technician I Overview:

The Field Service Technician I plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate installation of low voltage systems. They will encompass efficient teamwork and independent project execution. Beyond the installation, they will excel in delivering fundamental customer training on system operations. The role not only involves technical progress but also demands effective communication and dedication to precision, guaranteeing the successful implementation and functionality of these systems.

Field Service Technician I Responsibilities:
  • Reviews project quotes and scopes before beginning an onsite execution
  • Inspects installation sites, studies work orders, architectural plans, and comprehensive installation methods
  • Installs low voltage cabling, devices, and systems, adhering to precise specifications, relevant codes, and industry practices, as directed by their supervisor
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with installed systems
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of systems as needed
  • Respond promptly to service calls and customer inquiries
  • Travel extensively across mostly within the Midwest and on occasion weekends that are necessary for multiple sites; Home most weekends
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain customer satisfaction
Field Service Technician I Qualifications:
