MWDN Ltd. is seeking a senior Rust engineer to join a high-impact project with a Israel-based client, operating in a distributed data infrastructure environment. You will own critical components, collaborate with top engineers, and drive performance optimizations across native Rust engines.

You bring 5+ years in systems programming, deep knowledge of Rust, memory management, and concurrency, and you thrive in autonomous settings. This role offers flexible hours and strong support for contractors.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Rust and systems programming (5+ years).
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with multi-threading, memory layout optimization, or custom allocators.
• Proven ability to own complex challenges from inception to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Accelerating distributed systems like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Ray.
• Building native Rust-based execution engines.
• Deep performance tuning (e.g., SIMD, cache locality, zero-copy IO).

• Expertise in Rust

• Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking fundamentals

• Experience in low‑level system architecture

• Experience with multi‑threading, memory layout optimization, or custom allocators

• Proven ability to take full ownership of complex challenges from inception to delivery, with strong attention to detail and a problem‑solving mindset

• Ability to dive into unfamiliar codebases and optimize them quickly

• Comfortable working with minimal abstraction layers in high‑performance environments

• Level of spoken English: Fluent (C1)
