Job summary

IMC Trading is seeking experienced Network Engineers to design, implement, and support the North American networking environment in a hybrid Chicago office setting. The role focuses on low-latency networks, routing, and automation to support traders, developers, quants, and performance engineers.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of network engineering experience, strong troubleshooting across Ethernet, routing, and packet analysis, and hands-on scripting in Python or Ansible.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of dedicated network engineering experience.
• Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities across Ethernet LAN, unicast/multicast routing, switching, packet analysis.
• Experience with diverse network switching hardware platforms.
• Hands-on scripting/automation experience (Python, Ansible, etc.) strongly preferred.
• CCIE or CCNP certification is a plus.
• Experience in trading or financial services highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support the North American networking environment including low-latency networking, routing, and automation.
• Monitor network health using existing tools and contribute to next-generation monitoring solutions.
• Improve the environment through automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible, AWX).
• Maintain documentation of IMC’s network architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with vendors, exchanges, and service providers to evaluate options and deploy services.
