Job summary

Fort Leavenworth USD 207 invites a dedicated Low Incidence (Structured Learning) Special Education Teacher for the 2027/28 school year. You will design and implement individualized education programs for students with autism and other low-incidence disabilities, delivering targeted instruction and supporting meaningful inclusion in the classroom.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, adapt materials, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records to ensure high-quality education

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or equivalent required.
• Valid Kansas teaching license in Special Education.
• Health and inoculation certificate on file after offer.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, data collection and progress monitoring.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
• Patience and ability to build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with low-incidence disabilities.
• Adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Provide direct instruction in core academics, communication, social, life and adaptive skills.
• Utilize assistive technology and AAC for student learning.
• Conduct ongoing progress assessments and data-driven instructional adjustments.
• Collaborate with general education staff to promote inclusion.
• Implement behavior support plans and maintain student documentation.
• Attend IEP and MDT meetings and communicate with families.
